THANKSGIVING & TURDUCKEN

REALLY,

I am just got myself comfortable to read my student bog and grade them while listening pubic radio, splendid table program which about Thanksgiving. They start it with this TURDUCKEN, which is a chicken stuff in a duck, stuff in a Turkey, I m thinking what else..

I mean common, other animal eat meat but I do not think none of them stuff them inside the other, but human. I guess sometimes it is realy hrd to grsp and understand these supper creativity of human!!
So, what would be the vegan version of the TURDUCKEN? An avocado stuff in an eggplant, stuff in pumpkin???

Students and Education

I read blogs or talk to most of my students that have came around my way for last 12 mounts that I have started teaching and found a common ground that does not make me very optimistic to the future of this country. what I have found is, most of students come to school to get a simple and quick degree, enough to get them a "job" which mostly could pay enough to cover their life style while they are young and restless. What is problem with that, you may ask. Well, if we all look around, look far back and look close to where we are going, the goal of getting a short and quick degree will not take anyone of us any far from where we are , let alone restoring economy.
This country need educated people who can think about new ideas and restore the proud and quality of a develop country back to where it was 50 to 60 years ago.
If you read this, think about it. Most of you are young and have long way front of you. This is time for eduction, the best that you can do. Job and Money all will come after, but you may not get a second chance for education..

internet and my guest

I had a couple as guest to my house for the last weekend. we sure had good time while we were out, but we could not have much fun while we were inside. My husband and I noticed that our guests like to play /work with their individual laptop rather than have some friendly fun time with their host. I do not think we were the problem, because they did not much conversation with each other either.

How far we want to let this dumb technology take over our life? I am a computer person and fascinated with this brain power tool, but know enough that it is just another tool and not my companion or it is?

Communication

Communication by all means has been a vessel and hassle in human communities. We have been trying to improve the communication to improve our relation and finally improve our life. The question is: have we been successful or just build more road block and made the communication even harder than it was. What we have done right and/or wrong. At the end of the day, the question, which is still left open, is how we can improve our communication ?
